Key Info
Breaking off from the trail to find Lower Horn Lake is a little tricky, so upload the .gpx file to your phone / watch for best success...
The willows at the top can be super dense.
Description
From the lower Horn Creek parking lot, make your way up the spur trail approximately 0.5 miles to the intersection with the Rainbow Trail. Run another 0.5 miles south on the Rainbow Trail until your reach the trailhead for Horn Lakes. From here, make the ascent approximately and follow the .gpx file to find the break off the main trail over to Lower Horn lake. This trail is a bit tough to follow, but it is there! Once you catch a fish in Lower Horn Lake, quickly make your way back to the main trail and start heading up to Upper Horn Lake. The last quarter mile is typically fairly overgrown with willows, but again, the trail is there. At Upper Horn Lake, catch another fish and then pack your stuff up and return to the parking lot via the same route you used to get up there. Drink a beer at the car and stop your watch!
